KT Yoga Philosophy
KT Yoga works on getting clients pain free and functional. Kim focuses on alignment and adapting the pose to the individual.
Because of the modern lifestyle, sitting at a desk, driving, public transportation, watching tv, reading etc. the majority of us are out of alignment. Our bodies were not designed to sit for hours. This has lasting effects that change the musculoskeletal structure of our body.
Certain muscles go dormant from lack of use, other muscles over compensate and work double time. As a result, we become out of alignment and experience pain within the body. Some may blame injury, or think this is the norm as we age. From working with people of all ages and body types my clients have taught me that we can live a modern lifestyle and be pain free.
Kim’s classes make everyone feel comfortable. Each person can work at their own level and pace without feeling intimidated. Kim has the ability to engage the students and meet them where they are at. She gives modifications for beginners and instructions to challenge the more advanced students.
Kim’s private lessons include a one to one meeting and pictures of your current posture. A blueprint of your body will be created and you will be given an individual menu designed specifically for your body. (Menu: a series of poses in a specific order). A few benefits include: better posture, more flexibility, strength and better balance.
Meditation – Optional for those individuals interested in deepening their awareness and living more in the present moment. Students learn mindfulness and breathing techniques. Benefits include: stress reduction, lower blood pressure, increased immunity, more energy, and calmness. Note: this is non-religious. Practitioners of all faiths, beliefs and backgrounds are welcome to participate.
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” ~ Lao Tzu
Kim’s mission is to bring about healing in the world, one person at a time from the inside out. Her dream is to have customized yoga and her teaching to be accessible for each individual person. KT Yoga is for real people, with real bodies, and busy lives. Her dream is to help each person attract more balance, peace and joy into the everyday.
She believes we are all here to fulfill our unique purpose in this world. However, it’s hard to do so when we are suffering from chronic pain (physical mental or emotional). Her goal is to help her clients get out of pain and back to the activities they love so they can lead a more joyous, fulfilling life.
Kim does this by sharing the tools she has learned with you. She hopes this will create a ripple effect of happier joyful people by making simple transformative changes.
Physical pain is the most obvious and Postural Alignment Therapy is an amazing treatment for those who are ready to take charge of their health.
Yoga translates to yoke or union. Linking the physical, mental, and emotional together from the mind to the body through the breath (Prana) and the poses (Asanas).
Begin your journey of healing and balance. From physical sickness, toxic conditions, infectious disease, and accidents. From mental sickness from fear, worry, anger, anxiety and other emotional stressors. From soul sickness from ones ability to quiet the mind, to know ones true self, and connect with a higher purpose (Our relationship with (Spirit God, Creator, Divine, etc). It is a trilogy our mind, body and spirit are all interconnected.
